Hell-raising guitarist Dewey Finn (Jack Black) is anti-establishment to the hilt, irreverent to the max, and he worships the power of rock and roll. With a penchant for stage-dives and 20-minute solos, Dewey is determined to lead his rock group to victory at the local Battle of the Bands…but his band mates fire him instead. Down-and-out, in need of rent money and wallowing in his apartment strewn with take-out containers, Dewey picks up a phone call intended for his roommate Ned (Mike White), and impulsively accepts a job as a substitute teacher at the prestigious Horace Green Elementary School. There, by-the-book Principal Mullins (Joan Cusack) watches his every move like a hawk. But while Dewey might not have a clue how to teach, he does know how to inspire confidence in his young fifth graders. And when he accidentally overhears them performing in an orchestra class, he decides to mold these young musical prodigies into a high-voltage rock band, which will change their lives forever.

England, 1645: After waging three years of bloody civil war, victiry is in hands of the Puritans who have overthown King Charles I and won their battle against corruption. Two heroes have emerged from the war - the leaders of the New Model Army, Lord General Thomas Fairfax and his loyal deputy General Oliver Cromwell. The war may be won, but their mission is to unite and reform the country. Their bond of friendship may be strong, but what lies ahead of them proves to be the true test. As a member of the aristocracy, Fairfax desires moderate reform of the monarchy, but Cromwell has other ideas… Returning from the war, Fairfax enjoys a passionate reunion with his beloved wife, Lady Anne. However, Anne retains a commitment to the monarchy and believes, along with many in Parliament, that the war has served as a satisfactory lesson to King Charles I. Under the leadership of Speaker of the House, a faction of Parliament secretly agree to return the King to power in exchange for valuable gifts and the promise of favour. Cromwell is outraged: he employs his troops to recover the treasures used for bribery and puts the traitorous MPs on trial. Fairfax learns that Cromwell has no intention of conducting a fair trial and that he has signed the King's death warrant in advance. As the King's execution proceeds, Fairfax and Anne flee London. Once in the company of Royalist acquaintances Fairfax realises he still believes in the principles he fought for, and he must return to London and try to temper Cromwell's extremism. But with the King dead, Cromwell's puritanical regime spirals out of control. His armies spread violence and fear througout the country, with frequent raids on the theatres, gambling dens and public houses. Cromwell is behaving more like an Emperor every day, and tension between the two old friends builds to a point where Fairfax realises Cromwell must be stopped. Fairfax engages a soldier colleague to shoot Cromwell during one of his increasingly royal appearances at Greenwich Palace…

The story's protagonist, Peter LaFleur (Vince Vaughn), is a charismatic underachiever and proprietor of a rundown gym called Average Joe's. The facility's clientele of decidedly less-than-"average Joes" is made up of a self-styled pirate, a scrawny nerd who dreams of impressing an unattainable cheerleader, an obsessive aficionado of obscure sports, a dim-witted young man, and a cocky know-it-all who, of course, really knows nothing. Peter's humble gym catches the eye of White Goodman (Ben Stiller), the power-mullet-sporting, Fu-Manchu-d, egomaniacal owner of Globo Gym, a gleaming monolith of fitness. White intends to take over Average Joe's, and Peter's non-existent bookkeeping is making it all too easy for him. A foreclosing bank has stationed attorney Kate Veatch (Christine Taylor) inside Average Joe's to finalize Globo's takeover of the gym. But Peter's boyish charms win her over and Kate joins his team of social rejects to beat the odds - and their own ineptitude - to try to save Average Joe's. How? A showdown dodgeball competition against Globo Gym.

Conquering 90% of the known world by the age of 25, Alexander the Great (Farrell) led his armies through 22,000 miles of sieges and conquests in just eight years. Coming out of tiny Macedonia, Alexander led his armies against the mighty Persian Empire, drove west to Egypt, and finally made his way east to India. This film will concentrate on those eight years of battles, as well as his relationship with his boyhood friend and battle mate, Hephaestion. Alexander died young, of illness, at 33. Alexander's conquests paved the way for the spread of Greek culture (facilitating the spread of Christianity centuries later), and removed many of the obstacles that might have prevented the expansion of the Roman Empire. In other words, the world we know today might never have been if not for Alexander's bloody, yet unifying, conquest. Starring: Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, Anthony Hopkins, Jared Leto, Rosario Dawson, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers
