Matt Gerald is an American actor and screenwriter, known for his roles in numerous films and television projects. He currently portrays Melvin Potter in the Marvel Netflix series Daredevil, as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Gerald was born in Miami, Florida. A graduate of The University of Pennsylvania, he is best known for his roles as Melvin Potter on Netflix's Daredevil, Corporal Lyle Wainfleet in James Cameron's sci-fi thriller Avatar, and elusive predator, Ray Speltzer, on Showtime's Dexter.
