Chen Tang (Chinese: 陳湯; Wade-Giles:Ch'en T'ang), born in Jining, Shandong, was famous for his battle against Zhizhi in 36 BC, and a quote: 夫胡兵五而当汉兵一, "a single soldier of Han is equivalent to five Northern barbarian soldiers". Another famous quote from him goes:"明犯强漢者，雖遠必誅". "No matter how far away, whoever dares to violate the mighty Han will be put to death".
