Michael Glaser

Michael S. Glaser (born 1943 Chicago, Illinois) is an American poet who served as Poet Laureate of Maryland from 2004 to 2009. He graduated from Denison University with a B.A. degree and from Kent State University with an M.A. and a Ph.D. degree. He began teaching at St. Mary's College of Maryland in 1970, retired and became a professor emeritus in 2008. He lives in St. Mary's City with his wife, and is the father of five grown children and grandfather of nine grandchildren.
