Vladimir Pavlov

Vladimir Pavlov (born 19 August 1981) is a mountaineer and extreme snowboarder from Sofia, Bulgaria.On 3 March 2016 he climbed Mount Damavand, a 5671m peak in Alborz, Iran. The winter unsupported ascent took two days via the south face route and his snowboard descent from the summit was uninterrupted down to 2600m.He summited on Lenin Peak, a 7134m mountain in Pamir, Kyrgyzstan on 27 July 2017, this time climbing as part of commercial expedition via the standard north west route. He snowboarded down to camp one at 4400m solo and uninterrupted, following the direct north face of the mountain.On 15 May 2019 he made an unsupported ascent of Mont Blanc over two days, taking the classic route from Chamonix through Refuge des Grands Mulets. He made a snowboard descent on the same route.On 26 September 2019 he reached the 8163m summit of Manaslu, in the Nepalese Himalayas. He climbed as part of commercial expedition via the standard north route. This was followed by a solo snowboard descent to above base camp at 5000m, including an uninterrupted run as far as 6200m. He opened a first descent snowboard route from camp four at 7450m to camp three at 6800m. He became the first to snowboard from top of Manaslu without supplemental oxygen, and the first Bulgarian to snowboard (or ski) from an eight-thousander.
