Valentin Olegovich Konovalov (Russian: Валенти́н Оле́гович Конова́лов: born November 30, 1987), is a Russian politician, Head of Khakassia since 15 November 2018.In June 2018, Konovalov was nominated for Head of Khakassia. Konovalov defeated United Russia nominee and incumbent Head of Republic Viktor Zimin in the first round on 9 September 2018, and won the uncontested second round on 11 November. Konovalov became the first head of the federal subject of Russia, elected on an uncontested elections since 1997.Konovalov is the youngest Head of Khakassia, as he took the post at age 30. In addition, he is one of the youngest heads of federal subject of Russia, taking the second place after the Governor of Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov.
