Toby Daniel Moorsom Young (born 17 October 1963) is a British social commentator and formerly Director of the New Schools Network, a free schools charity. He is currently the London associate editor at Quillette and has written for them since 2017.Young is the author of How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, an account of his "stint" in New York as a contributing editor at Vanity Fair magazine, and a columnist at The Spectator. He served as a judge in seasons five and six of the television show Top Chef and co-founded the West London Free School. In early January 2018, he was briefly a non-executive director on the board of the Office for Students; a controversial appointment, he resigned over a week later after misogynistic and homophobic Twitter posts were uncovered.
