Krysty Wilson-Cairns (born 1988) is a Scottish screenwriter and comic book writer. Born in Glasgow and raised in its Shawlands district, Wilson-Cairns first gained work experience on a filming set on the series Taggart. She studied Digital Film And Television at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and earned her Master of Arts in screenwriting from the National Film and Television School. A year after graduation, she sold her first script, a science fiction film titled Aether, to FilmNation Entertainment in 2014.Wilson-Cairns became a staff writer on the final season of Showtime‘s horror series Penny Dreadful, in addition to writing a Penny Dreadful comic book series.Her most recent projects include the war drama 1917, which she co-wrote with director Sam Mendes, and the upcoming psychological horror film Last Night in Soho, which she co-wrote with Edgar Wright.
