Timur Bekmambetov presents a modern version of the Soviet cult comedy “Gentlmen of Fortune”. A young animator from a kid centre Lyosha Tryoshkin is a dead ringer for a very dangerous criminal named Smiley (known for his infamous habit to smile before he murders) who stole the priceless symbol of Kazakhstan – The Golden Warrior Armor – from a St. Petersburg museum. A beautiful police lieutenant Irina Slavina catches Tryoshkin and then makes Lyosha help the ongoing investigation, or else he is going to prison himself. Police sends Tryoshkin to Egypt and “inputs” him into the criminal environment of his “evil twin”, so he must carefully play out his part to find out The Golden Warrior Armor whereabouts.
