Jacob Thomas White (1764 - 21 November 1831; died in Brentford, Middlesex) was a professional cricketer who played for Middlesex in the late 18th century. There is considerable confusion about players called White at this time as Middlesex had another White, known only as W White and perhaps Jacob's brother; and a player called Knowles who played under the pseudonym of "White"! Unfortunately, the scorecards of the time did not always make clear who was who and have left researchers trying to create complete records with an identification headache. There are six matches from 1789 to 1797 in which someone called White took part but there is no way of knowing which of the three players was involved. Details are at CricketArchive record of unidentified player(s) called White. Jacob White is known to have played in two first-class cricket matches in 1789 and 1791, both of which featured W White also. He is further recorded in four matches playing for Brentford and Richmond in 1799 and 1800.
