Jonathan Harden is a Northern Irish actor, director and mental health advocate. Born in Belfast in 1979 to an American mother and an Irish father, he is best known as series regular Sean Rawlins in ITV crime drama Unforgotten, Gregory in the final series of Peep Show, Walter Hill in Titanic: Blood and Steel, as Newman Noggs in "Nick Nickleby" - a BBC adaptation of Charles Dickens novel, The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (which he also narrated) – and for his cameo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.Over his career as an actor, Harden has been cast by some of the industry's leading figures, including: Ralph Fiennes, David Farr, Nick Murphy, Stephen Frears, Oliver Hirschbiegel and Rian Johnson. Harden's stage credits include Henry Joy McCracken in Stewart Parker's Northern Star at the Finborough Theatre and Children of the Sun at the Royal National Theatre under the direction of Howard Davies.A busy voiceover artist and actor, Harden provided the narration for 2015 Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning short film, Boogaloo and Graham. He has also provided voices for several video games, most notably as Xenophilius Lovegood in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. In 2014, Harden was responsible for bringing a new species in the Halo universe to life on screen, playing Axl in the Ridley Scott produced, Halo: Nightfall.In 2015, Harden launched In anything at the minute? - The Honest Actors' Podcast, a project centred on interviews with other jobbing actors and available on iTunes.In 2017, Harden produced and directed his first film project, Guard, a female-led boxing film set in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It had its debut at the Oscar-qualifying Galway Film Fleadh in July 2017, and soon after its North American premiere at the Oscar and BAFTA-qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival. In 2018, it was followed by Troubles, on the subject of male mental health.He has been married to writer/actress Bronágh Taggart since 2008.
