Steve Segal (born in Richmond, Virginia in 1949) is an American animator and filmmaker who collaborated with Phil Trumbo in the production of the cult classic Futuropolis, an avant garde space-travel film parody which started in the mid-1970s as a nine-minute short but has been growing in size and impact ever since. He teaches animation at the California College of the Arts and has also been a professor in the animation department at Academy of Art University, San Francisco, California. He received his BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1972.
