Tim Porter is a British television editor, best known for his work on the HBO series, Game of Thrones, as well as several other British television series.In 2018, he received his third consecutive American Cinema Editors, Eddie nomination for his work on Game of Thrones, for the episode, 'Beyond The Wall', directed by Alan Taylor. He won the 2016 Emmy Award for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Drama Series, again for his work on Game of Thrones, season 6, episode 9, 'Battle of the Bastards', directed by Miguel Sapochnik. For this episode he 'sifted through nearly 100 hours of footage to create a seamless battle scene.' He also won the 2016 HPA award, and the American Cinema Editor's Eddie award for the same episode. He was recognised in Variety's 2016 'Below The Line Impact Report' as, 'an editor capable of building suspense and excruciating drama. In 2015, he received Emmy HPA and Eddie nominations for his editing of Game of Thrones season 5, episode 8, 'Hardhome', again directed by Sapochnik. He is a member of American Cinema Editors.
