Liam Dominic Byrne (born 2 October 1970) is a British Labour Party politician who has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Birmingham Hodge Hill since 2004. He served as Chief Secretary to the Treasury in Gordon Brown's Government, and is known for having, upon his departure, left a note for his Conservative successor saying "I'm afraid there is no money."
