John Spiker

John Spiker (born July 10, 1981) is a multiple Grammy Award winning American musician best known as the bassist for Tenacious D, due to featuring on many studio releases and live concerts since 2005. He has also performed bass for many other artists and bands such as Trainwreck, John Carpenter, Pete Yorn, Steve Earle, Big Talk, Filter and Abandoned Pools.John Spiker is a producer/engineer/multi-instrumentalist based in Los Angeles, CA. He got his start there engineering & mixing records for The Dust Brothers. During that time, he worked with artists ranging from Beck to Steve Earle. (Won Grammy for work on Washington Square Serenade) After leaving to spend time on the road with Tenacious D and Filter, Spiker built his own studio in Sherman Oaks, CA. Producing and mixing records for artists ranging from Nine Inch Nails to The Killers to Beth Orton. In 2014, Spiker won a Grammy for his work producing and mixing Tenacious D’s “Last In Line”. Currently, John can be found producing/mixing Tenacious D’s upcoming release “Post Apocalypto”, as well as many other projects for various artists.
