Meredith Louise Vieira (born December 30, 1953) is an American journalist and television personality, who was the original moderator of the ABC talk show The View (1997–2006), and co-hosted the long-running NBC News morning news program, Today (2006–2011). Vieira was the original host of the syndicated version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. She has been a contributor to Dateline NBC and Rock Center with Brian Williams, and was the presenter on Lifetime Television's Intimate Portrait series. She hosted a syndicated talk show, The Meredith Vieira Show, from 2014 to 2016. She is a special correspondent for NBC News and a contributor to Today, the NBC Nightly News, and Dateline NBC.
