He is known for his roles as Logan Huntzberger on The WB television series Gilmore Girls (2005–07) and Cary Agos on the CBS television drama The Good Wife (2009–16). He currently stars as Dr. Conrad Hawkins, the title character, on the Fox medical drama series The Resident (2018–present).
