Thuis is a Belgian television soap opera, which airs on één, which is in the hands of VRT, the national broadcasting channel of the Dutch-speaking region of Belgium.
Thuis first aired on 23 December 1995, featuring Pol Goossen, Janine Bischops, Merel De Vilder Robier, Sally-Jane Van Horebeeck, Annick Segal, Monika Van Lierde, Rik Andries and the late Donald Madder.
Thuis grew to become Flanders' number one soap, gaining 900,000 viewers, and therefore beating competing channel vtm's soap operas Familie and former series Wittekerke. Thuis is currently in its 18th season. On May 27, 2011 episode number 3000 was aired.
After being disappointed by her husband, Anna decides to put an end to their marriage and tries to get her life back on track. But how should she continue with her life and her children, Lou and Vic, through which she'll be connected with her ex forever?
1970s, Amsterdam. Karo, a ten-year-old girl with a jet-black hair, lives in a hippie commune with her parents. Her father is a charismatic idealist who believes in life with no boundaries and restrictions, whereas her mother would much rather prefer faithfulness and private space for her own work. The moment a young woman enters the family life, Karo is a witness to changes in her parents’ relationships, as well as experiences the aggressive attitude of the authorities directed at the commune. However, the girl’s life is not short of lightness and joy as everyday life in the squat is cheerful and beautiful.
